All students must be members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.  Memberships are taken between September 1 and April 30th. All adult members get a free copy of the Comhaltas magazine "Treoir", issued 3 times a year (one copy per household).  It is not necessary to take classes to become  a member of Comhaltas.  Membership entitles members to reduced entry fees to Fleadh competitions, insurance cover, discounts to some Comhaltas events and other discounts.
